What is never behind a paywall
The checkout takeover, the order write-back into Shopify, and reconciliation are on every plan including Free. The first is how you get paid; the other two are how you prove you can fulfil what you sold. Charging extra for any of them would make the product untrustworthy. Plans differ on volume, seats, stores, history and convenience features.
When a cheaper option is right
If your processor has never flagged you, you do not need order bumps or subscriptions, and payout timing does not affect your ad budget — your platform’s native checkout is free and perfectly good. We would rather say so here than have you find out in month three.

What can I do on the free plan?
Build the whole thing. Every block in the checkout builder, the thank-you page, order bumps, timers, reviews — all of it, with unlimited test orders and no card. What Free does not do is take real money: switching on live payments is what you pay for.
Am I charged per store?
Yes. Each store is billed on its own, because each one is a separate checkout taking separate money. Pro covers any number of stores under one subscription.
Are subscriptions an extra charge?
They are what Pro adds. Starter sells one-time purchases; Pro adds Subscribe & Save, free trials, the customer portal, dunning and the MRR view. If you sell one-off products, Starter is the whole product.
How is the per-order fee collected?
On one itemised invoice a month, charged automatically to the card already on your account. You see the invoice — the plan on one line, the per-order fee and the volume it came from on another — before the card is charged, not after.
Who processes the cards?
Whop, through your own connected Whop account. Chekvo is checkout software built on it — we never hold your customers' funds, never change your payout destination, and never sit between you and your money.
